SF Recruitment are working with a leading distribution business in Coventry to recruit a Team Leader., within the Returns/Reverse Logistics area. The role would suit someone with a team leader skillset from a logistics/distribution background. There is alot of automation and data capturing within this area, so an itermeditate level of Excel Skillset is key.

JOB TITLE Team Leader
REPORTING TO Operations Manager
DAYS/HOURS OF WORK 40 hours per week worked Monday to Sunday (Weekend work is very sporadic, general shift pattern is a Mon-Fri)
LOCATION Coventry 

AIMS OF POSITION:
To lead warehouse operations across all functions, ensure department meets KPI targets, also the delivery of customer service targets.
To ensure H&S standards are always adhered to, and that ISO standards are maintained.
To drive team performance, staff development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
To ensure processes are in place to maintain stock accuracy and to work with IT Department and Supervisors to identify and resolve and systems issues which may be affecting KPI performance and stock accuracy.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead daily warehouse operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency across all areas.
Monitor and deliver against key KPIs including productivity, accuracy, and performance.
To report directly to the Operations Manager.
Ensure all orders picked are handed over to the DC for shipment. Full warehouse floor walks and completion on signed handover document.
Ensure end of shift report is completed.
Escalate and follow up on system issues affecting accuracy or output.
Ensure H&S Standards are always enforced. Ensure housekeeping is always maintained.
Attendance and internal meetings, or with the customer, as may be required.
Ensure staff resource levels are reviewed daily based on customer demand.
Ensure absence and staff performance is managed in line with company procedures.
Ensure the cover for any other team leader that is absent from the same department.
Ensure product handling standards are always maintained.
Ensure SOPs are kept up-to-date and maintained in line with ISO standards.
Cross-functional mindset with a willingness to contribute across teams or departments.

The Person Specification

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to motivate and lead teams to achieve KPIs.
Understanding warehouse principles (e.g. goods in, stock check, pick, pack, dispatch, H&S, MHE).
Good communication skills within the warehouse, across other departments, and externally with customers.
Commitment, enthusiasm and passion to succeed.
Flexibility and willingness to work long hours (where required).
Calm under pressure and results driven.
Clear communication at all levels.
Ability to analyse and problem-solve.
Organised with strong time management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 12 months' working experience in the warehouse management system.
Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience working in a warehouse environment.
Intermediate skillset level for Microsoft Excel
