SF Recruitment are working with a leading manufacturer in the Droitwich area to recruit a Senior Buyer. Working within a bustling manufacturing environment the role oversees the end-to-end aspects of procurement. Initially a day rate contract role, with the potential option to go permanent. 

Position: Senior Buyer

As a Senior Buyer, you will play a crucial role in advancing the company’s supply chain function, focusing on procurement activities that drive the company’s growth objectives. This role will emphasize category procurement in areas such as direct materials, subcontract services, supplier relationship management, and regulatory compliance.

Your primary responsibilities will include supporting cross-functional teams to ensure a stable supply chain, mitigating potential risks, and strategically managing key supplier relationships. You'll also develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to optimize supplier spend and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously enhance the supply chain framework and processes to meet evolving business needs, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth strategy.
  • Effectively source materials, goods, and services in an ethical and cost-efficient manner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, promoting clear communication and ensuring compliance with standards through regular meetings and site visits.
  • Implement and uphold supply chain practices that meet regulatory, quality, and company policy requirements, working closely with technical and quality teams on supplier compliance and performance standards.
  • Focus on achieving key supplier relationship management goals, with an emphasis on monitoring and reporting metrics such as on-time in-full (OTIF) delivery and quality performance.
  • Plan, market, and execute procurement programs, adhering to industry best practices.
  • Stay informed on market trends, regularly benchmark pricing, and collaborate with suppliers to deliver value and innovation within the category.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, contract management skills, and the ability to negotiate effectively with third-party suppliers to align with business goals.
  • Collaborate with the quality and technical departments to review and update compliance documentation, maintain stock codes, and support the development of supply chain specifications.
  • Assist in conducting internal and external audits, working closely with suppliers to arrange audits and manage any necessary follow-up actions.
