SF Recruitment are recruiting for a Process Engineer to join our well renowned manufacturing client based in Swadlincote.

The role:

Prepare and issue process specifications for production
Maintain and update process specifications in line with Engineering Change Request systems, processes, and associated production data
Lead and support operational improvement projects, including lean initiatives, process and process flow improvements
Contribute to, and support, facilities / capital investment / equipment project work as and when required
Contribute towards the development of the Process Engineering team and the team objectives
Ensure compliance and adherence to all system requirements including AS9001, Health & Safety, Risk Assessments, Environmental, ISO:14001 and housekeeping
Liaise and manage relationships with other departments to achieve good communication, rapport, maximum efficiency, and support
Maintain an appropriate awareness of alternative and new production processes. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Routine daily review and actioning of the Engineering Change Request system
Investigate manufacturing related issues, route cause analysis and problem solving.
Lead and support operational improvement projects, including lean initiatives, process and process flow improvements
Support quality improvement / scrap reduction initiatives and support the quality and production teams in this respect
Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of the CNC cutting equipment used in production and especially relating to material yields and improvement activity

Education and Experience:

Ability to communicate and work effectively at all levels within the business.
Strong production/manufacturing/operations background.
Understanding of modern techniques/systems in manufacturing improvement.
Experience of MRP type manufacturing control systems and associated control of data fields.
Understanding of the principles of CNC machine tools (router / waterjet / CNC knife systems)
Familiar with ISO standards and quality procedures and their impact
