Join a leading manufacturing business based in Birmingham supplying into large OEM customers, We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Material Planner to support our production operations and ensure seamless material supply in alignment with production and sales demands.

Job Summary:
The Material Planner plays a critical role in managing the flow of materials to meet production schedules. This role is responsible for analysing supply requirements, responding to manufacturing and sales forecasts, and ensuring the timely fulfilment of material needs. The successful candidate will work closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the MRP system to support efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse material requirements derived from ERP-generated forecasts and production schedules.
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to meet production demands.
- Monitor and maintain MRP schedule accuracy and master data integrity.
- Collaborate with purchasing and supplier teams to manage lead times, order quantities, and delivery schedules.
- Respond promptly to changes in demand, production schedules, and inventory levels.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise inventory levels and material flow.
- Coordinate with production and warehouse teams to resolve material availability issues.
- Report on material availability risks and develop mitigation plans to avoid production delays.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply and service performance.

Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in a material planning, supply chain, or production planning role, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding & confident user of MRP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or a related field preferred.
