12 Month FTC (Maternity Cover)
Redditch, West Midlands | Manufacturing Sector

Are you a proven Credit Controller looking for your next challenge? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can really make an impact on cash flow and debtor performance? If so, we'd love to hear from you!

Our client, a well-established manufacturing business based in Redditch, is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their Finance team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to take real ownership of a high-volume ledger, build strong customer relationships, and play a key role in improving credit control processes.

What's on offer:

  • The chance to join a commercially focused, dynamic business with a supportive finance team.
  • Full responsibility for your own debtor ledger - no micro-management, just the scope to get things done.
  • A collaborative role where you'll work closely with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations.
  • The opportunity to make a measurable impact by reducing aged debt and improving debtor days.

The role:

As Credit Controller, you'll be the go-to person for all things credit control. From managing payment collections to resolving disputes, you'll ensure cash flow targets are met while maintaining strong customer relationships. Key duties include:

  • Managing a high-volume debtor ledger, driving down aged debt.
  • Building strong relationships with both customers and internal teams.
  • Monitoring payment trends and tackling risks early.
  • Resolving queries promptly and professionally.
  • Producing accurate weekly/monthly debtor reports.
  • Supporting process improvements across the credit control function.
  • Handling self-bill accounts and reconciliations.

About you:

We're looking for someone who's confident, proactive, and used to working in a fast-paced environment. You'll need to bring:

  • Proven Credit Control experience, ideally in manufacturing or a blue-chip environment.
  • A track record of reducing debtor days and improving processes.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups).
  • ERP system knowledge (SAP, Oracle, Efacs, or similar).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Resilience, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high workload.
  • CICM or AAT qualifications would be a bonus but are not essential.
